The Brazilian Federal Council of Medicine has given its recognition to Equotherapy as a Therapeutic Method by their resolution note nº 06/97, of April 9, 1997;

The Federal Council of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy, COFITO, also described Equotherapy as a therapeutic field of work for Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists, as noticed on their resolution nº 948, from March, 27, 2008

The Special Education Department of the Federal District has certified that the Equotherapy is an educational activity which favors the learning of writing and reading skills, the socialization and the global development of persons with learning disabilities or presenting cognitive deficits.
